This is the message I have been receiving intuitively from my inner realm.
GO SLOWER
I thought I couldn’t go much slower than my life has been this year. Slow, meaning more present, more mindful of my surroundings, people, relationships, nature. Less obligations work wise and otherwise.
The message to go slower puzzled me when I consider that we are in a fire horse year according to Chinese astrology and that seems to mean everything will be all systems go …. as in fast and furious. Boom or Whoosh. That’s how my mind was interpreting it.
However ….
my body has been nudging me to go even slower.
To REALLY be present in each second. Not five steps ahead with racing thoughts, but to stay right here every single second.
I STUMBLED
Well if receiving an intuitive, subtle message to go slower isn’t enough, I received a gentle nudge the other day.
It was slippery with all the rain and I was about to leave the pottery studio and my mind was already home. So guess what? I slipped on the slippery wet pavers and was down. I fell forward luckily.
And I was very fortunate.
It could have been worse for sure. A gentle reminder to slow down.
I had a slight bruised knee and a very mild sprained wrist but nothing serious at all.
There was a mental and emotional component to the whole scenario of events (of course), and this awareness came later after the incident when I was home nurturing my wounds. It had to do with boundaries, and I received an important (for me) insight, but I don’t have to go into that.
It’s so important that we tune into what’s correct for us and not take information from the outer and apply it without tuning to the inner and honour the guidance there for us. It may be all systems go for some, but for others it's a time to slow right down and everything in between.
It’s absolutely fine to absorb information, but how it relates to you is very individual and will manifest differently for each of us. When you consider that we are completely unique as individual expressions of consciousness it makes sense that we have to arrive at what’s right for us and not take on whatever is in our information feeds.
Tea & Pottery
Two passions of mine where both cannot be rushed.
POTTERY making cannot be rushed and also asks for a balance between controlled effort and letting the intuitive side guide.
In a TEA CEREMONY you can sit and sip while being fully present to witness changing phenomena like thoughts and feelings without needing to control, react, or do anything but enjoy the slow drinking of tea.
This also happens with some yoga practices, sitting quietly tuning into something other than the thoughts, emotions, but rather seeing them pass while anchoring into the ever present awareness that’s always there observing through our eyes, our body.
So my friend, if you find yourself racing to keep up (with anything) , pause and check in with your inner guide to see if you need to maybe slow down amongst the speedy world and what that would feel like.
In slowness,
And with gratitude,
