Chinese New Year 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse. It’s fast and it can take you on the lightning ride of your life and it can also burn you out especially if you are not in alignment with being true to you.
What’s true means being in alignment with your soul.
You’ve come here with a blueprint, a map, a destiny, a dharma, like a tiny seed within that grows into a giant tree with all its unique characteristics which have already been encoded in that tiny seed.
A seed that contains the map of your magical mystery tour of life. It's a grand adventure to discover what that seed is meant to grow into.
To hold fast to the notion that we are in control of our lives and that we are the ones who make choices keeps us in the illusion, maya.
Transitions
During 2025 we have gone through a kind of shedding. Releasing all that is not in alignment with our soul in preparation for this new energy that's upon us now.
The only apparent choice we can make is to say YES or NO to what life presents. How do we know which way to go?
We certainly can't rely on the mind (thoughts), but instead we can dive deeper into the body and the wisdom of the ages within us that we have access to and that can point us in the correct aligned direction.
If we enter the Fire Horse year believing we alone are in control of our life, we may be in for some big jolts, like falling off the saddle, losing control of the reins, burning out.
Rather than control we can cultivate trust
Trust in our intuition, following our inner authority, our inner guidance to stay aligned to the truth of our soul and the wisdom bestowed to each individual expression within the whole of existence.
We can consciously focus on fostering trust in this soul seed within us to guide us. We can let go of fears as they arise with understanding and a deepening of our connection to the magical mystery of life itself.
What can help us step into this new year and ride the fire horse with ease?
There is Yogic wisdom we can call upon right now. Here are five seeds of wisdom we can embrace:
Sraddha - Trust your inner guidance, intuition. Trust your path, your work. Keep showing up trusting in your instincts even when things aren’t clear yet, especially when the mind doesn’t understand and wants to protest. Make that commitment to TRUST, not in blind faith but in something that is within you that guides you towards the flowering of the seed planted within you.
Abhyasa - Being anchored into the body and into the Earth. Find a consistent routine that helps anchor you into your body. Movement. Breath. Grounding in earth energy. Abhyasa is the practice of repeating something with long-term devotional (heart) energy.
Vairagya - Be less reactive to outer circumstances. Let go of seeking outer approval, perfection, outcomes. Cultivate an internal neutral awareness. Let go of needing control. Embrace the fear that wants to control and surrender to your soul and the wisdom you hold within you. Create quiet to hear the quiet voice of your heart.
Santosha - Being enough, not comparing. Present moment calm and contentment. This is an active contentment, not passive. It is cultivated by continual practice of non-attachment to anything outside of yourself to bring the happiness or peace you seek and not allowing anything to disturb the peace that exists inherently within you.
Tapas - Fires of purification. Let the fires of tapas burn away the conditioning and reveal the true self. Adjust the temperature of the tapas fires to help you grow in sustainable ways. Avoid burning out by reducing impulsivity and reactivity. Give yourself space and frequent pauses to be mindful. Be willing to slow down to move forward with clarity.
Each of these 5 sanskrit words describe energies which we can embody with practice and sincerity.
Explore what works best for you
Of course, this is only one suggestion based on my own practice and love of yoga and yogic wisdom. But there are other wisdom teachings from different places and cultures. It’s important to align with what resonates to you and to that soul seed within you.
If we trust and surrender, all will unfold with greater ease. Maybe what unfolds is not all blissful, but it will unfold for your highest benefit and expand your unique contribution within the wholeness of humanity.
If you are curious about your soul seed path, your purpose, and how to align with how you're designed you may like to explore my Human Design self-study mini courses, which are really a single module in each course and takes max 2 hours to complete. Usually it takes about an hour or less.
With love and gratitude,
